Hi Naval,

Have you had the opportunity to check this test page and see my problem? If you scroll over the glass buttons the correct url and pop-up name appear - which is how I see it in BV10 but all buttons are named with one name.

Thanks again in anticipation.

Regards

Andy

Where is the "php style" fix you are referring to? I'm sorry but I just looked through the thread and didn't happen to see it. I suppose I overlooked it or something.

This is a really big deal to me right now because I use my site for my clients to access pages of information and this little rollover thing is minor, but like it is now where one page is messed up due to this issue, I'm afraid of what to do when I update the rest of the pages.

Right now, it's just my "Portfolio" page where all of the rollover image links aren't working...

On a side note, is there any way I can "roll-back" to BV9? Is it available anywhere?

I've been able to roll back to several other software updates because of situations like this. Is BV9 anywhere out there for me to see if BV10 is in fact the issue?

Okay... I may not have needed to do this but wanted to avoid any further confusion in explaining the problems I am experiencing a slightly different way.

Here is a page I put together of screenshots as I went through to find the problem, or what it might be. (but I don't know how to fix it).

This may have been explained already, but I'm not as familiar with all the lingo and maybe it was right under my nose and I missed it.

Hopefully it helps... for whoever might see this:

Sorry George, should of expanded on my post a bit more in that it should of said "if the site was built using Navals .php style" I had given the impression that Naval had posted a fix for this particular problem & hadn't.

Hey that's okay. :) I see what you meant to say.

Oy... I only update/publish pages for my work once a year and I hope we can get this fixed soon. If I can provide any more info, I will.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I use Windows XP and did NOT upgrade yet to Service Pack 3, which was just released.

I had read that my antivirus software had compatibility issues with it (for whatever reasons) so I held off just to be safe. Though, I'm not sure what other software issues I'll have until I check the "known issues" ---- which maybe I should have done for BV10. :)

Hi,

thanks for the respone.

@ Naval: I am experiencing exactly the same issue as Hester.

Hester is using individual rollovers for their menu, this is the same method I use for my wifes site.

We are missing something very fundamental if you are so sure that there are "NO" issues with BV 10d. I believe there IS something wrong with rollovers.

Links as follows: (site nowhere near finished, but this should demonstrate the issue)

page published by BV10: http://www.madebymaddie.co.uk/tiaras.html

page published by BV9: http://www.madebymaddie.co.uk/tiaras3.html

this is my wifes site which was due to be finished at the weekend, but we had to stop due to this issue.

Is it me? Am I the blind one?

cheers
Simon

Edit on my post, i switched pages.

Please re-do the links to your rollovers, and publish again so we can see.

PLEASE also re-select as link type: http . never mind if it is already there, please do so, and test.

Thanks

George, please also do the same, and let me know.

in simon's post, #216, the menu tabs published with BV10 does not change to the categories of the tab you click on. in his BV9 example, you click on the tab and the categories change under the tab.

I can confirm the rollover issue. It will be fixed in the next update, which will be available later this week.

Your buttons all have the same name. Did you by any chance created a button in another page, then pasted it in this page many times, then edite each one separately ?

If yes, then this is the problem: the image that is generated, will ALWAYS be the last one you edited (in this case the bottom one).
Solution:
CUT (Right click, Cut) each button, and paste it back in the page using the Paste Icon from the toolbar. Save, Publish and refresh to see how it behaves.

Yep. I did. I'll redo them and republish. Thanks very much Naval. I know you are a busy chap.
Great service, as always.

Naval - I did what you asked but it is the same result.

Just so you know, I didn't change anything or re-do anything from before. Besides the fact that I downloaded and installed BV10 last week, the images, links and RollOver info was never touched or changed. When I opened that page to update it, all I did was update the text that is on the left-middle of the screen.

There was no other editing or anything.

I'm not sure though how that would explain why the <a href="http://www.........> isn't showing up in the "Inside Body" of the Page HTML on ALL of my BV files, even those that are older and not edited in months.

Pablo mentioned there would be an update later... so I hope that works. :)

Thank you to everyone for all the help.

It should NOT show in the Inside body. Only code that YOU paste in there will be seen.

oh okay. Well, I guess it really doesn't matter anyway because I never looked in there for the code before this issue came about. This was just some sort of "investigation" to see where the "link" might be missing, only because of the walk-through I showed in that link I posted in the previous thread where the <a href...> link is missing on the updated/re-published pages. Maybe the script should not be there on the Page HTML in BV, but it's also not showing up on the published pages online. All I know is that it should and it's not that I'm trying to act as if I'm knowledgeable about this stuff... when I'm not... just pointing out what I think might be helpful so that people can hopefully understand my issue. :)

I'm not sure if this is a bluevoda 10 issue or me being dumb, but my contact form has a bug. Whenever someone sends submits a form, my email gets put in the sender description. All of the fields are okay, except that one thing. Any ideas?

The contact page is located: www.foamlaminates.com/request_information.html

and the redirect page is:
www.foamlaminates.com/action.php

I did everything in the tutorial, and it worked fine for the previous version of both this website and bluevoda.

My PHP code on the action.php is:

<?PHP
$mailto = "info@foamlaminates.com";
$email = $HTTP_POST_VARS['email'];
if ($email == "") {
$email = $mailto;
}
$mailsubj = "Information Inquiry";
$mailhead = "From: $email\n";
reset ($HTTP_POST_VARS);
$mailbody = "Information Inquiry from Foam Laminates :\n";
while (list ($key, $val) = each ($HTTP_POST_VARS))
{
if ($key!="submit")
{
$mailbody .= "$key : $val\n";
}
}
mail($mailto, $mailsubj, $mailbody, $mailhead);

This is nota bug, this script is designed to do so. When, for any reason, it cannot recognize the visitor's email address, it uses your own email address as sender. This is done because most ISP's will block emails with unknown sender.

reason: the email filed in your form is named "Email Address" instead of the correct "email" (all lowrcase) as requested by the script and stated in the tutorial.

Thanks Naval, you're the man! So if I am understanding correctly, I there is nothing I have to change? Thanks.

Text background colour.
Hi, can’t quite work out why this is happening. But there seams to be a conflict between the text background colour, & the page background colour + transparency.
If the text is highlighted to have a coloured background, (this is ok) but if you remove the background it seems to stay white when previewed.
But if you go to page background & select white & then come back & highlight the text & click on “Background colour” to rest background, it will then reset ok & go to being transparent. (Strange one) & I am not sure if this is an inherited one from BV9.

This one is similar to Chris but is regarding 'text background' while editing text. After double clicking text in order to edit, the text background is black by default, the problem is with black text as you can't see your text (black on black)

I change my text to white before editing and back to black after I'm finished...rather slow.
Cheers,

Something I have noticed when using a table. When I put images into a long table they disappear when I scroll down the page while using the builder. After I scroll back to the top the images reappear and I am only able to see the top row or two of images.

They do appear to be okay on the live site, I am just concerned that I can't see them on the site builder if I have to switch images because something I am selling goes totally out of stock and will not be replaced.
