Default OSCommerce rookie here with question

If you wanted a ecommerce site, can you build one just using OScommerce alone? It seems that some of the sites I have seen are built around this software, but I am such a rookie at web building I am not sure.

If this is the case, can you just install and configure OScommerce, add your information and products, etc, and have an operational site? Is there an advantage to building a whole site around it?

Thanks for any input.

Anyone? Should I rephrase the question?

If you just want site to sell stuff from then go with OScommerce design it the way you want. but if you also want other pages, info, forum etc use the bluevoda web builder to build the pages and use the same color and theme of the OScommerce link all in together

Thanks Mr. AA. Does OSCommerce allow you to have Meta tags and such for SEO? In other words, if I build a site simply using OSC, what are the odds of anyone finding it doing a search?

It does not enter meta tags, but to get around that you could put up a intro page which would be the index which you could put all the meta tags and other info on, then have a enter here or something link to your shop, google etc will pick the shop up but with out the index.html will take longer
