I went into my Paypal account, so that I could create a custom "add to cart" button. Once I finished creating it, I got the HTML code which I copy-pasted into my website. But nowhere ever was mentionned any "success"/"cancel-failure" URL Link... How come ? Will this "add to cart" button work without these two links ? |

They are called something different in PayPal: something like return page if payment is successful and url on payment failure Dont quote me but look for similar instructions...................... |

Thank you DavidUndAlicia. Well, I'll go back there and verify it, but I'm sure I didn't see any question related to linking anywhere.... I customized my Paypal button, then I clicked on "create button", Paypal created it, gave me the html code, and that was it... Harsh... |

I was "accustomized" to find the "success" and "cancel" URL links asked for. I was surprised not to find this links question into Paypal proper. Hence my question here, in our BV forum... This is what I obtained, once my "add to cart" button was created : "Vous avez créé votre bouton
"You've created your button 1. Click on Select a code in order to select all of the button's code. 2. Copy the code (...). 3. Paste the code in your own code (...)." Not a single time were the "success" and "cancel or failure" URL links mentionned/asked for, and this, in Paypal proper... |

Thank you Carbon Terry. I went back into Paypal, to do what you suggested. Well, in order to get this "option", I am said to upgrade my Paypal account, and they ask me to give them some "customer service number", and so forth... Waow, hey, I'm not (yet) a company...(LOL) Does this mean that I won't get any "success"/"cancel" URL links soon (if ever) ? |

Paypal doesn't provide the success/cancel links. You have to make the pages and publish them. The link would be something like: http://www.yoursitename.com/success.html Here's one of mine http://www.redhawk-archery.com/thank-you.php

I know this, Carbon Terry, thank you, but nowhere, in Paypal proper, am I asked (neither givven the oppportunity) to give to Paypal my "success"and "error" URL links (of those two pages I already created). To resume : I watched the BV tutorials, know I need "success" and "error" pages, created them some days ago, went to Paypal to create a multi-options "buy now" button I need, Paypal provided me the html code for the button I created, I copied that code, expecting to have Paypal asking me for my "success" and "error" URLs... NO such question by Paypal, NO URLs asked for... This is where I am. |

You add this page in your paypal profile under website payment preferences i believe. You have the option to use their page or your own. Karen

Thank you verymuch, Karen Mac. I'll try this asap, since I have other issues to resolve... (And no, definitely, you cannot build a website in thirty minuts...) |

Well, I've been there anew. I didn't find the option to have those pages built within Paypal or not, but anyway, I already have created them some days ago. What you did here, Karen, is giving me courage to go there again. Once there, I did what Carbon Terry suggested, but before I could do that ("select step 3 -option-"), I upgraded my Paypal account to "premier", which would be "premium" in english. So, one HAS TO have his/her account upgraded to at least "premier/premium" in order to get (in the step 3, which is optional) Paypal asking for "success" and "cancel/error" URL links. Thanks to you all, I've stepped upon one more trouble in my website building path. Paypal Buttons trouble : CLEARED. |
