    Default NTFS Conversion

When I restored my IBM Laptop 2227 R40 to its original factory content, I was informed that FAT 32 files were converted to FTFS files on the hard drive. I wondered what that meant.

Here's something to read (if you need to fall asleep) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FAT32 this was something in Windows 95.

You might consider outside help to load an operating system and Win XP.

Wish I could help more but I am reminded of an old line (Disney?) "Look at the mess the sorcerer's apprentice got himself into"

I personally would recommend reloading and specifying FAT32.
NTFS has more going on, such as error correction and such.
But, FAT32 is faster and more compatable.
