Default Internet Explorer locks up

Hi,

I set up my first page just for practice. www.datingtipsforboomers.com. It seems to lock up intermittently on my computer and everything has to be shut down with task master. I was showing it to a webmaster and her computer locked up when she went to the site. It happened every time with her. We both use Internet Explorer.

I also always get a pop up that I have to approve to run ActiveX. I doubt that most people would make the effort it seems to take to view my site.

Have I done something wrong? Can you help?

Thanks.
Teri

Hi, seemed to be ok for me on FF & IE. If it is locking up? Try removing the player to see if it stops. This is just to see if it’s this creating the problem as it did take a bit of time for the page to load.
Only a personal thing, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to have a player that auto starts on the front page. For those with dial up would just leave.

Hi Teri ...

Also, this popup is standard on everyone's computer when you are creating and choosing preview - it is your own computers security - this will not happen when your webpage is published and a user opens your page ..

Also - I agree with Chris there, although many people want this on their front page - but perhaps it would be better to just supply an image of the player (kind of a dummy effect, lol) on your page, then link the image to where the video actually is (you would place the video on another page and publish) .. this will help with page load
