I have BV Website Builder as a shortcut on my desktop to open quickly when ready to work. This is the first time I've opened it and there are no files to open. They're gone. I've been working on my website since June and it's gone. My Blue Voda Website Builder is empty. Open an existing file....there are none. I get 'failed to open' when I try opening from 'file'..'open page' has nothing. My website address works on the internet. My site is there. But not in my Blue Voda Website Builder. The FTP has the website files. The directory on the left side has nothing...where it had all document etc. files before. The Images and Templates files it does have are empty...where they were not before. Yes...I'm in a wee bit of a panic mode. I have learned thru other questions forwarded to you not to panic because the questions I ask are merely my ignorance showing. I hope that's the case with this help! request also. Need your help asap so I may continue with my website. Gratefully mday8 |

Do a search on your computer f0r the format that blue voda files save in. Check your recycling bin to make sure you didn't accidently delete it. If you didn't delete it, you move it accidently, and it should still be there. If an entire directory disappears from your harddrive, it would be very unlikly that the rest are still there. Maybe someone else knows what happeened!?!?! |

Hi Watdaflip FOr shows a few files that would be within my pages...but not the pages themselves. Nothing in recycle. I know about losing files and am cautious, careful and conscious about how I save my website pages. Files such as Images and Templates...which I don't touch...are also empty...if that means anything. I did a file search for Blue Voda. The old and new, udated versions were all found (I do not delete anything). I opened the latest 7.5 version and it did what my desktop file did....opened with no files in it. I'm able to start a new page alright. I can see moving one page...maybe...accidentally. But all of them? How could I have done that? Would downloading the Blue Voda 7.5.1 version again do anything? |

Doing a file search I found a text file for Blue Voda...setup log in notepad that's 249 KB....the largest of all found for this search. The other files are all 2KB..one is 4 KB. What is this text file? Is it my site...there's lots of info re: my site. Can this be it? But it's in text format. goodness |

Files do not "Magically Vanish". In your "My Documents" there is a folder called BlueVoda. This is where all your files are stored. If they are not there. YOU and only YOU have done something with them. Please retrace your steps....If you did deleted them by accident. Check in your recycle bin. If you have emptied your recycle bin. They are gone forever... Solution: Even though this is not a perfect fix. It will work. Since your website is already published on the internet. Import one page at a time into BlueVoda. You will probably have to tweak each imported page a bit. But it will work.

Blue Voda 7.6 has been available for a while now. http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/new...b-upgrade.html Just a thought, but maybe try searching for the files again, only this time: Click Start, click Search, click All files and folders, and then click More advanced options. Click to select the Search system folders and Search hidden files and folders check boxes. It's worth a shot anyway. Good luck.

Thankyou three times over Mr. Administrator....tweaking is better than starting over. I am also now using a backup (BV have any backup solutions of their own? Could be a bonus) Again...thankyou |

Nothing found..my pages vanished. Must have a twitch in a finger when on the keyboard..lol. A lesson well learned in my book. So I've imported my published pages and am now tweaking. Backup is now a priority. Thanks for the suggestion. mday8 |

OK! -I have a power cord outlet for blackouts...is this what you mean by 'power spike'? -I have downloaded (for now) a backup free for one year offered by my computer's company....which is what I'm using but mistrusting because it is 'from a computer to a computer' -and I have discs to use...DVD is better than CD I hear..DVD has more space -but I've not heard of the USB drive...little? If you have the time to explain. Most appreciative mday8 |
