I have a Dell Dimension 4700 which has come up with the blue screen of death and error 0x00000024. Unable to reboot or get my system started. Dell warranty has expired and they want $ 99 just to diagnose the problem. Can someone give me a solution please as I really cannot afford it and also unable to use the system as I am a home based travel agent and trying very very hard to make a living. Please help.

Hi Mohan, This is not the place for problem solving it is for R&R. Anyway you have 2 options: 1. Insert the CD that came with the computer and restart. Your C:\ drive will be reformated and your PC will be just like the day you opened the box. 2. If the above fail take your pc to the nearest computer shop and ask them to solve the problem for you.

Hi Mohan, Remove you hard disk from your pc and take it to a shop who can transfer the data to a new hard disk which you have to buy. The other is to send your pc back to Dell and pay the $99.00.

Thanks for your followup. I am going to transfer the data myself. I believe there is a hard disk case available to transfer data using a USB cable. I will try it and post the results here. If you have any thoughts on this hard disk case, do let me know. Thanks.
