Question My PC Crashed

Hi y'all
I wasn't sure under which catagory the following would have fallen into, so I hope you don't mind me asking here.

I had a computer crash awhile back and had not accessed my BVWB after that because of sheer frustration and my NOT making backups. That was when I had last yrs version of BVWB. I've since downloaded the new ver 10.1.2. I looked at one of my many pages online and decided to retrieve them into the new ver and make some edits but when I went to view on net, they looked strange. I'd like to retrieve all my pages that I had created and ftp/published from the stored on the server and get them back onto my computer from there. How would I do that?

Thanks in advance, friends

Hi ... you will need to continue doing what you are doing by importing your pages and make your adjustments or add the elements that do not import to your satisfaction for each page and republish .. and then of course try and make yourself an external backup from your computer in the chance this ever happens again ..

is there a way to move them all from CPanel back onto my HD in a separate folder perhaps, then tackle them all at once and how would I do that?

Hi Pristinelife,

You can do it.

In cPanel goto "Backups".

Then select "Generate/Download a full backup".

Best if you create a new folder for the backups in your pc beforehand.

BACKUPS from the cpanel are going to be compressed tar.gz files usually and not useful in that form. Use an ftp client where you can navigate between your hard drive and your server create folders and select several files or site folders to download with a hilite and a right click.

They wont be bvp files tho.. you will have to IMPORT them by going to file, new, from html and select the folder on your hard drive, fix up your pics etc and then you can save them as bvp
