Go... Start, type in msconfig then run down your services tab, you can see which apps have bee stopped started, enabled, disabled etc. Programs tab too.. then you should be able to restart it.. with a reboot of course Karen

Hey Karen.. Just thought I would tell you that I couldnt find anything in there.. Looked more around on the internet and had to go into the registry.. which.. was also blocked.. so had to fix that before I could do the task manager.. Thanks again for the help :)

Well thats pretty odd.. you running NORTON.. they are famous for doing stuff like that to computers. You should have just been able to turn it back on in msconfig. That should have reset the REGISTRY key as well. Karen
