Default Computer Crashed

Hi
My computer has crashed.
I Can
1) Pay a lot of money to get the hard drive repaired and hopefully (but not guaranteed) not loose any data or
2) Reboot with recovery disk but loose all important data.

Problem is ,
Have Voda hosted site up and running commercially and pages need constantly updating.
Have use of another computer and have uploaded the Voda website builder
but do not know the best or correct way of retrieving all the pages and pointing them or loading them onto the website builder for me to carry on and edit and then publish as if nothing ever happened.
Thanks

Okay....lots of money...loose important data...

what is it worth? yeah, it is dilemma, but what is more worth to you? Your time or you money?

If you choose time, get a back up plan,...Ramsey, although having a pic chewing on turkey leg is distracting...LOL...knows what the shiszell he is talking about.

Having a turkey waving at you, as in my pic now, is saying how important are those files?

Don't under estimate the ability of a local computer store to do what you need for a reasonable amount of money...Law says they must give estimate...most times with those stores, it is their going rate for all you need.

Ya don't pay for estimate, so what is the cost of asking?

It has save me a lot of grief on 2 occasions.

Thanks to Voda and the friends I have found on Voda....There is a 1-2-3 rule in my house!

1= backup, your choice, no pressure
2= backup
3= backup to somewhere else and cannot be the same mode as 1 and 2!

P.S. to avoid duplicating your back ups, talk to Ramsey!

you can import your pages from html to the other computer and even the computer repaired once its rapaired, into BV

Most computer shops will charge you a look at it fee but will apply that fee to repair... some might even apply it to the cost of a new computer and help you hook up the hard drive to recover what you can off the damaged disc.. just depends on the shop and how much they wanna sell.

Hi anybody

My computer crashed as well the other day and I had to have a new hard drive put in.

When I restored my files there is no sign of the Blue Voda files that I am building my website from.

Do I have to reapply for a new Blue Voda website builder download as a new customer or can I get it from somewhere else, and when I do get it will my files re-appear.

Sorry if this sounds a bit dumb, but I am really new to all this stuff.

Thanks

Also how do I post a new thread on this forum, without having to reply to an old one to get my message noticed.

No Just redownload from here

No your files will not reappear, you have lost them in your crash. But you can try importing them into new pages remotely through the tool, but only if you had your site live on the internet.

File > New Page > From Existing HTML

It won't download fully but you'll get most of your stuf back.

Take a look at my advice for stopping this from ever happening again

To post a new thread, just go to the correct forum category and at the top of that page click the 'new thread' button.
