Saved html appears as html on IE

Hi guys,

I am currently using Vista. When I try to build a web page in either Windows Notepad or NoteTabLite using html and then saving the file with an 'html' extension I am unable to open it in IE. All I get is the original html. Also, now that I have downloaded Blue Voda when I atempt to start building a webpage and then click on the 'Preview' button, I again only get html.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how did they correct the problem.

Chances are you don't have it set to show known file extensions so when you save if as

page.html

it is actually saving as

page.html.txt

I can't tell you how to enable showing file extensions with Vista as I don't/won't use vista, but it should be somewhere in your options menu.

If its not a file extension issue them I am not sure.

I haven't got to stage of getting a website.
This is what I get when I click on 'text' and do abit of typing and then click on 'Preview':

What are you using to build? Sounds like you are trying to preview the html page in dreamweaver or soemthing.. not sure.

Also if you are using a mac.. bv isnt compatible.

I'm using BlueVoda on a PC which has Vista installed. The action I described was taken with BlueVoda software.
