  • Publishing pages of a add-on domain

    Hello,

I purchased an add-on domain with VodaHost and I added it on cPanel like the tutorial.
This morning, I published one page of the add-on domain but images doesn't appear.
    What is happening?
The URL is the following: http://www.themininggrindingoffice.com/index.html

    Thank you,

Re: Publishing pages of a add-on domain

    Hi;

It would seem you have installed a "Crawl Protect" script on
    to your http://www.themininggrindingoffice.com/ site and
this appears to be preventing images from loading. Please
check an example on one of the images from your website:

You should either repair or remove this script as it appears
to be the cause of your image issues.

Out of interest, why have you added a crawl protect script
to your website? What is the benefit you will gain from
    adding it?

Hope this is of some help to you. Thanks,

    VodaHost

Re: Publishing pages of a add-on domain

      Thank you very much VodaHost.
Yesterday, I asked the same question on the CrawlProtect forum.
The developer told me that in my case, I should not prohibit the hotlinking.
What I do not understand is that I installed CrawlProtect for the main site (thecementgrindingoffice.com) and it works...
Now, to answer your question, I added CrawlProtect to prtect the site.

Re: Publishing pages of a add-on domain

You would benefit far more from an accurate sitemap.xml file being created in addition to a robots.txt file (Tutorial) added to your site than using a foreign script that is dubious in nature, may prove ineffective, and already seems to interfere with normal operation of your page elements.
Your "developer" should know the importance of being compliant with WC3 protocols, and using an unproven foreign script that may not compliment the move from HTML4 to HTML5 in addition to being a disruptive element in page function is something that very much suggests an indication of the limitation of understanding ...

You can generate a compliant robots.txt and a sitemap.xml both at this site.
Once generated, you can open either in Notebook to edit/customize prior to uploding them to your public_html/ (Root) Directory.

          Hello,

I removed the .htaccess file of CrawlProtect and the published pages of the add-on domain are working well.
Now, I have an other problem: when I go to the main site, I see images, buttons of the add-on site. I use CCleaner but the problem persists. I loose a lot of time to check if I made a mistake but there is not mistake.
Do you know a solution for that problem?
          Thank you,

Re: Publishing pages of a add-on domain

            Hi,

You may have published some of your website files to your
primary domain rather than to your add-on domain.

Please be absolutely sure that you are publishing files for
your main domain to your /public_html/ directory only and
that you are publishing files for your add-on domain to the:
            /public_html/"youraddondomain.com"/ directory only.

Hope this is of some help to you. :)

Re: Publishing pages of a add-on domain

              Hello VodaHost,

I published my pages in the good directory.
You can check by yourself: www.thecementgrindingoffice.com (main site) and www.themininggrindingoffice.com (add-on site).
Probably for you, all seems normal. But for me, there is a mixture of buttons from a site to an other.
              I checked all the buttons.
It is a nightmare. Even on the other computer which is connected on the domestic network there is the same problem.
              I don't understand this phenomenon...
