Thread: Help I published but it comes up as an index

I published all my pages and got the note the publish was successful but when I go to the site, I do not get the first page, I get an "index of" page. What did I do wrong?? How do I fix it please?

Cyndy, One of your pages should be named index (small letters)
and the rest can be what you like.

Just rename 1 of the pages (your home page!) to index and then republish.

my home page is named index small letters and that is what I got when I published "index of" do I rename the index page index and republish?

Do I have to have index in my navagation buttons? Thanks so much for you help. I'm almost published and I can't wait!

If your domain address(your website) is called
i.e. pupplove.com
and your home(first) page is called index
then your nav buttons to return to your home(index) page will be
just http://pupplove.com

all other nav buttons will have a link like
http://pupplove.com/pagename

if you publish your home (index) page I can have a look and advise you better.....it does not matter if it finished(or ready) yet..........

All my nav buttons have the name like you said pupplove.net/pagenamebut my home page is just pupplove.net and is named home but I cannot figure out how to do the index page. I originally named my home page index and that is the way I published it and the nav button was also index. I changed the nav button to home saved as Home and re-published it but now I do not have an index page. www.pupplove.net if you could look at it please?

FORGET the home page, its just an expression....
rename your home page to index (small letters and nothing else)
and republish.

add .html to the end off ALL your nav bar urls

i.e. html://pupplove.net/pagename.html

do that now before we continue please.............
