Thread: publishing test

Hello,
I was working on a site this evening and tried to publish a test, just a grey square on a blank paqe. It was published sucessfully but does not appear on the "Net nor in the public_html folder. I check several times to make sure I published in the correct URL and folders and that all passwords were correct.
I also added a folder inside the public_html folder and tried to publish there but got the message that the folder did not exist.
I leave in the AM for a 10 day vacation. I'll check for replies in the AM and then after I return.
I hope I can remember what I was doing when I return!

the url you posted is not working, even with the addition of m on the .com ??

ooops, sorry 'bout the typo.
That's what am talking about. The main URL www.artelicious.com works fine. It's a mystery (to me) why I get a successfully published notification but the file does not appear in the file manager ???????

I think you must be publishing it in the wrong directory ....

If you published in the public_html directory and called the page grey it should show up as the link ....

are you checking the public_html directory in your file manager?

also check when you go to publish that you are just publishing to public_html .... and nothing after it ....

I think I have checked that quite carefully. I could be wrong. I published the grey page to another site different IP address and all works ok.

In my C/Panel it says that my shared IP address is:
XX.XXX.XX.128
In my welcome email it gives this address:
XX.XX.XXX.194
I am publishing to the 194 address.
Could this be the problem?

Terry .... and you very well may be right about that, there was an ip server change today and perhaps you were part of that change ....

there is a thread from ***** .... announcing the change over and things would be back up and working, you may have to download blue voda again with the new ip .... let me find that thread for you .... brb
