Is your page particularly large? By that I mean, do you have a lot of full sized photos, or video or anything?

Try publishing a short page with just some text on it as a trial - this should publish straight away.

Hi, when this happens, do you have a lot of windows/programs open or in the task bar waiting to be used.
I have found a few times that things lock up with the browsers & BV when doing to much multi tasking. (Yes! we guys can multi task as well. But only on computers.) With some advice from the forum on not to have so many windows open & a good clean up, like a defrag. It has helped a lot.

Good luck.
