Thread: Lost in publication

Howdy,

I have created all of my pages and published them and the index page loads okay.

If I click on a couple of the menu links it will open up two of the eight I created. The others say the url cannot be found.

When I try to return to the index page it will not load again.

Hi, Scott.

You need to go through all of your hyperlinks and check each one for spelling, punctuation and case. Make sure there are no upper case letters where there should be lower case, ensure that any _ are not - and that you have . / and the like in the right places. The problems you describe are typical of these kind of errors which are very easy to make.

I have checked all of the urls and they are correct. I tried to verify them and only two are verified.

As to your other pages, I'm not sure why they are not working if you've already published them. Maybe you can republish and see how that works?

I have corrected the links.

I tried to republish but I am getting an error 12163 now.

Download and install the new version of blue voda and this should take care of this error message.

It is also very important to name your pages and link to them by the exact name, sometimes a typo, a period or a space can throw things off ... you just need to recheck your name of your pages against the links that are not working ... even taking the e out of one of the links does not correct this problem ... be sure the name of your page and the link is identical ...

I am only able to publish three of the eight pages. Home, philosophy and methodology all show up fine. The others say the url is not valid.

When you mentioned checking the page names, I have gone back through the links I typed into the menu bars and cannot find any errors.

Is there a reationship between the page names as I have saved them in the Blue Voda file and the url? For instance the file name is "Elliott Wave Basics" and the url is .../elliottwavebasics.

What am I missing here? This seems like the easy part....

yep how you save them is EXACTLY how the link should read = no spaces...
