Default pdf -uploads - Im lost -?

    Hi guys,

I`m stuck again, has anyone tried to do this before?

What I`ve done is bought a pdf creator (Adobe) and I have converted my documents into pdf.

Now what I want to do is, publish the pdf so that my coleagues around the world have access to the information.

So idealy I would publish the pdf as a page and then offer a link on the site so that people have access to it.

I know it is possible I found a site that does just that, I just can`t make it happen.

Any recomendation would be highly appreciated!

Is wrong to steal a link from the site I saw this to show you as an example?

    Kind regards
    A cold snowy South Africa.

    SNOW????

Okay. You don't publish your pdf files. You need to upload them to your server. You can do this through Blue FTP (FTP Manager in Tools) in BlueVoda or through your C-Panel or through another FTP application like CoreFTP.

To use Blue FTP - > tools > FTP Manager > connect (use your C-Panel login/password). The screen is split into two. The right hand side is your server - navigate to where you want to save the files to. The left hand side is your pc - navigate to where the files are stored. Then simply drag and drop from your pc to the server. When finished - disconnect. Job done. Make a note of the path of each pdf file ie: http://www.mydomain.com/first_document.pdf You will eed this for the links on your normal web page.

Then you simply provide links to the uploaded pdf files. When your visitors click the link they will be asked of they want to download the file.

    Does that help?

    Domain www.hvbandb.co.uk

I have tried uploading a pdf file as per Amanda's comments above but am getting an error message (404)

The document is stored at //public_html/test/FCan198.pdf
so I have created a link to www.hvbandb.co.uk/test/FCan198.pdf - no joy. I also tried using public_html/test/FCan198.pdf

    Can anyone help on this?

The link above works for me. I see
"This candidate has been submitted by
    HIGHVELD SELECT..."

However, your link from the Contact page is:
    http://www.hvbandb.co.uk/public_html/test/FCan198.pdf
    and should read:
    http://www.hvbandb.co.uk/test/FCan198.pdf

Now I am really confused - clicking the link
http://www.hvbandb.co.uk/test/FCan198.pdf takes me to the document but the proprties tab on the link in the page shows:-http://www.hvbandb.co.uk/www.hvbandb...st/FCan198.pdf

I deleted the link, published, reinstalled the link, published and then got the "double" link - any ideas as to whats going on?

Open your Contact page - double-click on the text link reading FCan198.
Highlight the words - then click on the hyperlink icon in the top toolbar (it's the globe with the chainlink below it). You get a pop-up window which reads Edit Hyperlink. Correct the URL to not reflect the double words.
Then save and publish and it should work.
