    Default publishing advice required

Here I am cruising along creating page after page at www.gpteas.com and everything was working fine. Tonight I have problems on 2 pages. My Blue Willow page is not blue or green http://gpteas.com/blue_willow.php what happened to the template? It has been there for several days just fine. Republishing didn't help.

The last page I tried to do was http://www.gpteas.com/buffet_jam_dishes.php
and it is all over the map. I delated the page and started over with a fresh template. Same problems. Each time I publish I never know where my images including the header and menu bars are going to show up

I have exited BV, cleaned my cache, rebooted, problems still exist. Any ideas?

the only thing i can see is you have a space in your saved page. no spaces, no capital etc...

    Hope that fixes it

Sorry, but I don't know where you mean. The links I provided are to the pages that are messed up. The links contain underscores: blue_willow.php
    buffet_jam_dish.php

The Blue Willow page was fine until this evening

Can someone please HELP me. My pages seem to be melting down. All of these pages, which were fine when they were published, are now white with red Xs where images were to be.

    http://gpteas.com/infusers_squeezers.php

This page: http://www.gpteas.com/buffet_jam_dishes.php is messed up too. The template is still there but my menu, header, images, and top menu are all moved.

I have a very big site that I was planning to move to VH but unless I know why this is happening and and how to avoid it, I am wasting my time. The pages looked fne when they were published. What is happening?

    Barb,

It looks as tho youve moved the positioning of your page elements. Clear your cache, open your pages and make sure the html boxes for the php includes are lined up where they should be.

You should be using one page as a template with everything lined up where its supposed to be, and then each time you create a page, use this template, add your page content, and then "save as". If you are simply opening a page, and then redoing the content and saving as, you will get the menu errors. For each new page re load the template and repeat. Dont just change the contents of an open page!

your image errors are in the way you name your images. IE:

    cup_laughlin_3pc-01.jpg

Now if you named this cup laughlin 3pc-01.jpg with the spaces in it, when u upload it its going to have the above underscores in it. So the browser is looking for the WRONG picture and you will get a red x.

You can email me if you like, and Ill see if i can help you solve some of this. Blue Voda is quite capable of doing what you want, but you have to repeat the same steps and work with it and not against it.

Also, dont put spaces in your pagenames. It maybe causing you errors as Magoo said.
