Thread: How to organize public_html?

Hello Guys and Gals,

My public_html folder is in one big messy jumble.
It is already difficult to trouble shoot with 3 test pages
what happens when there are 50 pages?

I had made 2 sub-folders under public_html as advised
by Major General Collectors-Info but the pages cannot be
published directly into the subfolders via BV Websitebuilder
only from Blue FTP. If U upload using Blue FTP how do U
publish the .html files and not the. bvp files from your C:My Document/BlueVoda.

If you made two folders, and want some of your pages published to those folders, then you need to publish to public_html/nameoffolder

then you would link to http://www.nameofyourdomain/nameoffo...ameofpage.html

And publish directly from the web builder ...

You need to add the name of the folder in your publish box, after public_html/

I Did that. Open 3 sub-folders in my public_html folder.

However when I tried to publlish I got a 505 error message
stating that the subfolder cannot be found.

Can You check my CPanel and see where I have gone wrong again.

I republished my index page and it look ok.

Okay, I found your folders and I did a test publish to all three and all three work fine ...

So you need to remember to change your publish box for each folder ...
(exact name again and no spaces)

public_html/nameoffolder

So you make a page, name the page, save the page and publish it to whichever folder you want to ...

and then you apply the link

name of your domain/name of folder/name of page.html

(Don't forget, no spaces)

I will email you the links so that you can see how they work and you can also delete the one test page I made for each folder ...
