Thread: Add exe files to web site?

Hi everyone!
Question is, if vodahost allowing upload exe files and than make a link to it.
I mean a little calculator, nothing restricted obviously!
And i do not mean that file has to be downloaded and saved by visitor,
can it run strait through?

Are you asking if you can upload and install a .exe on the server? Or just allow your users to download or run on their local machine?

If you want to run it on the server no.. you are not given access nor will a .exe install on the linux server.

However if you are wanting to allow your users to download or just select run instead of save, just upload the file to your website and create a link to it as if it were a webpage.

I guess function run should not nervous a people, it will be fine,

Yes, all vodahost servers run linux

if i hostd a linux srvr will i b able to run linux executables dere like dmgs.
i am collecting knowledge abt webhosting bcoz i am soon buying a domain and i want to run a dedicated srvr. dedicated srvr files need to be run. dese r executables files. plz tell me in details. i hope u understood what i m asking.

That will be depend if you rent/lease a managed server, or you rent/lease a rack server that you must install your own software on and manage yourself.
