Thread: First time publishing

Hi there,

Im trying to publish my site and this is the first time i've done it. I have an account with vodahost (www.chris-adair.com).

Ive changed my DNS servers (with the help of a friend) to what we believe they need to be (basically the same process he went through to get his website online), but ive tried publishing my site several times and nothing is happening.

Im still stuck with the lovely looking lady and links to hoobastank (does anyone listen to them anymore?) and the all american rejects.

If anyone could point me in the right direction i'd be grateful.

Do the DNS servers changes take 24 hours to register by any chance?

It does take a while for your site to propagate on the "Net.

If you are having a hosting account with VodaHost, why do you need to change your Dns servers which was set up by your host?

Now I cant even find the page when I click on your url.

When i checked my DNS servers in the Vodahost billing services area they weren't set to the servers that are listed above. I also can't see my webpage now.

I should point out im not up with the technical stuff. I'm just going through the steps my friend said he had to go through to get his site up and running (he's with vodahost as well) I did wonder why it was such an effort to publish.

edit: the original DNS servers are:

dns1.name-services.com
dns2
dns3
etc etc

Did i need to change them to the ones listed above or am i just being too impatient?

Hi,

Send a Support Ticket and request VodaHost to reset what you had done.

Ive already reset it to what i had.

I'll send a ticket on monday, see what happens.
