    Default Re-publishing

I know this is an old chestnut - I've looked throuh the forum and found several answers to previous similar posts, and have followed all the advice given ....but......I still can't see my newly done page on my site.

I've: run the clean up programme to clear the cache and cookies etc
hit the Ctrl & F5 keys until my finger hurts
    re-booted four times
    de-fragged the hard drive
    drunk 3 cups of coffee
pulled out 2 handfuls of hair

What the hell have I missed?

If anyone would be kind enough to have a look at my site and see if they get the new page up, I'd be grateful. It's the "free classifieds" page at:
    www.baywatchspain.com

The new page is identifiable by the Form - it has only 2 fields, one for the name and one for the ad. Also, there is no blank button on the left menu.

I'm gong to make another coffee.....then it's back to the gin!

    Thanks guys

You have two versions of this page a html and a php, the php is the new one (and correct type) but you are linking to the html version (the old one) here is your correct link http://www.rubyshouse.co.uk/holidayh...d-bookings.php

    Ed,

Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm confused....

    I haven't got a holiday home...that's someone else's site.

    Mine's: www.baywatchspain.com

Yep working on two threads at once you link should be
    http://baywatchspain.com/classifieds.php
As I said you are linking to the wrong page, I would go into your file manager and delete the html version.

    Hi again Ed,
Yes, I've changed the link in all the pages, now it sends the ad...BUT...although it sends the ad to my e-mail the success page won't come up, there's a message:
The requested URL /www.baywatchspain.com./success.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I've been through it again, but can't understand why this comes up...any ideas?

Have you created the success and error pages?

Good then make sure you have linked them correctly to your form. In the properties for the succes and error fields fill them in with the complete url just as you would any other link.

    Edit:
I just looked at your form and you have your sucees page link wrong here is what you have
    http://baywatchspain.com/www.baywatc..../success.html

Here is what it should be
    http://baywatchspain.com/success.html
I imagine your error page is the same way, you really have to watch to make sure you are pointing to the right address.

Aahh, I think I may have cocked up on the creation front.

I've created the pages, but just used normal text for the messages. I've a suspicion that's not correct.

I've been up all night now, so I think I'll go for a snooze and get back to it when my brain's a bit rested, then look at the tutorials again and try to fathom out how to build success/failure pages...I'm sure it must be there somewhere.

Thanks for all your help - it's great to have the likes of you about when you're a novice!

One day, maybe I'll know enough to help someone else out!

    Bye for now
