Thread: Oh dear..I'm back again!! publish problems

hi,
having got one small site working I decided to have a go at my other...I've done things the same as last time,built pages, saved,got links working...but the actual pages showing all all messed up.

The gradient backgrounds don't show,
my pictures and vid on homepage don't show
I have ALL text showing on nav links,but no nav boxes (including name of page etc)
on the links page it even moves my logo and nav bar to the middle of the page!!??


i see that alot of the time it's the cache that stops the publisher not seeing the right things, so can one of you guys have a look please, does it look ok from your side?

each page should have a colour background,
a nav bar at top
logo top left
page title below logo
and empty tables in the centre....except the homepage, which should have a flash vid at top, and a table full of linked pics

Hi, have a look in your cpanel & add www.gemporium.co.uk to the hot link protection. Or disable it.

great stuff...it hasn't worked by adding it in, but it has by turning it all off.
Is there a chance it might work again with both sites if i turn it back on? only it's supposed to be protected isn't it?

Must admit i have had problems like this before & its a bit of a case of experimenting with it. But usually worked out ok in the end. Could try adding it again.

Just something else i noticed! would be worth looking at your background images as they a slowing your page down on loading. IE: http://www.gemporium.co.uk/bv01342.gif is about 230kb & could be brought down to around 3 or 4 kb if used within a table.

it's got me beat now...
all the other pages are fine-not much on them to go wrong really, but this one page still won't publish items where i put them

whether it's png,flash,java,the nav bar...it's all get moved to the middle....
why just this page, and how do i fix it?
i haven't re-enabled the hotlinks thing yet....

no- it's ok...it's that cache problem , I rarely get to see what everyone else is.
after advice on stopping the cache , it seems to work fine now for me...
