Thread: Error Code 12014

I got rid of the "Error 12029" all alone, like a good guy I am.
(Did this through McAfee, where I un-blocked BV...)

I was smiling, and expecting to publish, now, my website.
With crossed fingers, I clicked on "publish"...
Only to get a new "error message", the "Error 12014" !!!

It says :
"Details :
The request and log on to the FTP server
could not be completed because the supplied password is incorrect."

You know what ?
I typed the password anew, and again, and re-typed it, and again,
and even other passwords (you never know, don't you ?)...
NOTHING.
I got nothing else than this "Error 12014" !!!

What am I supposed to do ?
Take a bath in a Champagne-filled tub ?
Go to shop naked ?
Cry ?

Stop begging and check that the Server IP Number is correct as well.....

BTW, the name of this thread should be changed into "Error 12014",
not 12024...Sorry. But the problem remains the same...

If you can access your Cpanel then your

server number
username
password

are the same for publishing, so check the publishing box again
and if still no luck, put in a support ticket mentioning this thread.

Where do you see this info
(server number, username, password), once in Cpanel ?

Since I'm in VH, i have something like four usernames (approximately)
and the same amount of passwords, and two domain names.
I'm lost with all of these datas.
The slightiest need, and I am asked to give a username, a password, and so forth...
Couldn't all of this be more simple ?

No.. Whenever you are accessing the server you need to login, rather its publishing or ftp, or using the cpanel. This includes mail too. Otherwise just anyone could do it for you and use your space.

I dont know WHY you have four different user names unless you are counting the forum, but to publish.. no matter which site.. should just use one set and usually the same set as accessing your cpanel. You no longer need the soho access so thats one down.. and you need user accounts and passwords to mail, billing etc.

If it was simpler, youd have managed hosting.. usually ONE domain per account and, HIGHER hosting fees.

OK. I tried one more username-password combination, and guess what, it succeeded !

How long do I have to wait, so that my website is visible on the net ?

Whats the web address/url as it should be available now...............
