Thread: can't publish my site

Who will help me?

I can not publish.

-create a folder in the folder called blue voda: public_html
-it is my page that I've made in blue voda: index, method, etc.
than I am in the program itself to publish the icon
-I fill in my IP address from the mail
my username and password, I fill in
I fill-in folder in; public_html
-in files: Publish all files

then I publish, and he says that it is successful, then there is no site on the Internet.

Is this good or am I doing wrong?
It may also be that there was already a site, which is already finished? That went through Joomla.

What is your web site address?

You say you created a folder called public_html? This is not necessary, all your pages will be saved in your BlueVoda folder on your computer. When you publish your pages then you publish to the public_html folder (on the server). Do not add extentions to any of your page names, and you can only publish one page at a time. Open your index page and publish it and lets see what happens.

Ok, So in the folder, the Blue Voda supfolders: backups, images and templates.
Since I do not make new folder in? It is then automatically saved there?

Yes they will be saved in the BV folder just underneath those sub folders, you can add images into the image folder if you like to keep them all in one place or leave them as they are in your computer if you like.
Still need a link to your site to see if it has published correctly.

You are getting confused with your folder.

You have your bluevoda folders on your computer where you save your bluevoda pages......
then you have your website which at the moment should just contain your
public_html
folder/directory.

After you have saved your indrx page on your computer
you then hit the publish icon which will then send your index page to your
public_html folder on your website.

You mentioned another site.........do you intend to overwrite that joomla site?

Have you got two different domain names?
Have you got 1 vodahost account or two ?

Okay, thank you! I am beginning to understand. Only it's not published. I get a message stating it was successful, but then I see nothing on the Internet if I www.globalpress.nl type.

Is there a difference because it is already an existing domain name?

If you publish another index page to an existing domain name/site
then it will overwrite the existing site.

You need to purchase a 2nd domain name to create another website.

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

And if the site was not created in BV, but in joomla with that name?

I have made a site in BV, that must be over that other site. What should I do? I have removed every thing of the old site... i think..

Lets get back to basics:

do you have a vodahost account
and if so what is the domain name that you want to publish to.

Is the domain name a vodahost one or was it purchased elsewhere ?

I have a domain name vodahost, www.globalpress.nl.
But it is an existing domain name.

OK, I believe that you first have to Point the DNS(Domain Name Service)
to the server numbers that came with your welcome email.

Have you done this now, or in the past?
