    Default Publishing Third Website

I have two websites already published that have always worked fine. The first is named as my index although when I bring it up in my browser it does not show it as /index.html.

I published the first site under public_html, the second site is published using public_html/second site name, the third site is published using public_html/third site name.

The first two sites work fine and always have but I cannot get the third site to publish correctly. It comes up Index of and etc.

Laura at Customer Support told me the pages were named incorrectly but I don't understand how that would be since the first two sites have always worked fine.

If in fact they are somehow named incorrectly can someone tell me how I can correct this situation.

You used a capital "I" in index. It should all be lower case, no extensions.

    Ed,

    The capital I in index is how it shows when I put the address in my browser and it pulls up that website address - it comes up;

    Index of /

    Apache/2.2.9 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.9 OpenSSL/0.9.8b mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at shinwizards.com Port 80

Ed has answered this. Its a common error but you must publish your first page as index. All lower case. Not even a capital I and no extensions.

    Darren,

I feel like a complete idiot. Obviously I don't know how to publish my first site as index.

Would you consider giving me a step by step? It would be greatly appreciated. I have watched videos and etc and it's becoming obvious to me that I'm to dumb to make this happen.

Any help would truly be appreciated...

Just go to the page in your builder, click File/Save As index then publish. Thats it, it has to be all lower case letters and no extensions. Your other pages can be named what ever but this has to be named as I said above.

Well, I'm stumped... I've done what you instructed, as I have already done a number of times, and when I publish the third site it still will not come up.

I am at a loss as to what to do...

I've built two working websites with no problems and it seems that no matter what I do with this third site I cannot get it to publish.

    Any more suggestions?

Is there just no way to get any further help with what I'm having a problem with?

Am I just stuck and have no way to get an answer with this issue?

This is so frustrating not having someone to talk with but just relying on someone to maybe help or maybe not.

I've been fighting with this issue for almost two weeks with no success and I simply do not know how to resolve this situation.

    Would someone please help...

I understand your frustration. Did you post a link to your three sites somewhere?--people usually step in and help more readily when they can look at what's going on for themselves.

No I didn't but I will list them below, but first another observation.

If you put in the website address, site name.com, it will come up Index of and etc, but if you put it in site name.com/site name.html it will come up as it should... Why is that and is that some way part of the problem?

    The website addresses are:

    7secretstolosingweight.com (main site/index page)
    langstrummedia.com

And the third site which is still a work in progress is:

    shinwizards.com

    Hope this helps...

When you are trying to republish your index make sure you are publishing to the right folder (web site), might want to check that your other two are showing the right page. I have published to the wrong one on more than one occasion by mistake

    Ed,

This is how I am publishing my websites:

    7secretstolosingweight.com - - - - public_html

    langstrummedia.com - - - - public_html/langstrummedia.com

    shinwizards.com - - - - public_html/shinwizards.com

Is this not correct or am I doing something wrong?

In BV open up shinwizards.bvp and resave it as index. Publish index (no extension) to your public_html/shinwizards.com folder.

Your shinwizards page is too wide, btw. Make it 980 or less, I'd suggest.
