    Default publish failed error

I'm attepmting to republish some pages after some changes, but I'm getting the following error message:

    Publish Failed
    Internet Exception Error 12029
    Details:
The attempt to connect to the server failed

What does this error message mean?
I tried restarting my computer a couple times with no luck.
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Solution:
A 12029 error is a firewall issue error. This means that one or more firewalls is
blocking your attempt to publish with BlueVoda. Please follow the below steps:

97% of the time this can be attributed to your Windows XP Firewall Please follow
    the following steps...

    1) Go to your computers control panel
    2) Click on widows firewall
    3) Click on exceptions
    4) Click on add programs
    5) Add BlueVoda to your list of programs
    6) Press ok
    7) Reboot your computer

You have now successfully added BlueVoda to your safe programs list.
You should not have this problem again. If the problem persists. Your
computer might have a secondary firewall from Norton or MacAfee.
You will also have to BlueVoda to their safe programs list.

Also if you are working from an office or you are using your companies
computer or internet connection. You company probably has some type
    of network firewall in place.

Please contact your companies system administrator for instructions.

    Thanks,
I keep Windows Firewall turned off because I use ZoneAlarm. I'm on a personal computer, no company network firewall.

In ZoneAlarm settings I have set the Access and Server categories checked for both Trusted and Internet.

This didn't work so I turned off my ZoneAlarm Firewall and tried that.
    Still received the Error message.

Then tried rebooting and turning ZoneAlarm off again.
    Still got Error message.

I've published before with ZoneAlarm on with the above settings made. But now I can't.

    Any more suggestions?

    Thanks again

It is most commonly Windows Defender that blocks you, usually after your computer updates. You will have to disable it in order to publish. There have been many threads about this, search for threads about Windows Defender to read more.

    I don't think it's Windows Defender, here's why.
    1. I did a search with no results for Windows Defender
    2. I don't do updates for this very reason. It always messes things up somehwere.
    3. I am using Windows XP version 2002. Is Defender on that version? I haven't heard of it.

I searched threads titles Windows Defender, didn't fins any under the "Publishing" forum anyway. Can you give me a better hint on how to source these threads?

What else could it be that's blocking me from publishing?
