Thread: Live site is showing 'Index of /'

Hi all :)
Please can someone help me? The website I am trying to upload was created in BV, and each page has been correctly named, but as a live site it comes up showing -
Index of /

• cgi-bin/
• coolum_map_pg_1.bvp
• coolum_map_pg_2.bvp
• images/
• index.bvp
• postinfo.html

What have I done wrong? Any advice gratefully accepted :)

The pages are not correctly named. None should be saved with the bvp extension. Open them in VB and save them as index, coolum_map_pg_1, etc. No extensions.

You have to save your first page as index, nothing else, all lower case, no extensions. Remove the bvp extensions from all your page names, BV adds those automatically until you publish the pages then they become either html or php (forms)


Edit: Hey Tom I see we are at it again. LOL

The file is with the .bvp extension because they UPLOADED it. Geeze people.

If its published with bv it wouldnt HAVE that extension.

its default saved as extension is .bvp...

Thank you both for super speedy replies! I've renamed the pages and removed the extensions, uploaded again, but I'm still getting the same 'Index'.

Do you have any other suggestions?

As Karen correctly pointed out you do not upload BV pages. You have to publish them. Use the publish icon or File/publish.

DONT UPLOAD.!!!!!

Go to File.. PUBLISH.!!!!

Got it now - thanks guys. My fault entirely as the site is hosted elewhere so was using FTP to upload...

BV can be published to VodaHost servers only

Well you dont got it..cuz you need VODA HOST!
