Thread: Index page naming anyone can help pls?

Hi.

I have finished my website and in the page properties under "title"
it is listed as the name of the website, (gozopropertyfinder.com) but page is saved in BVP as "index"
no commas, no other words just index.

Now when I publish, and go to for example to one of the other pages, as they have a link back to the main page, the index, it does not come up.
it says page cannot be displayed.

when I change the title in the page propereties, to index this link will work.

what can I do to make the page show the name of the website :gozopropertyfinder.com ?

even on search engines, it does not come up as that name but it show as index, which i really don`t want

any help...suggestions?????????

Hi .. your website shows fine ..

to link to your home page .. index ... apply the website url only
you do not need or should add index.html to this page . the index
page is the only page this applies to .. all other pages you do
need to add the name of the page and the .html extension to the link

index page links to http://www.gozopropertyfinder.com

by right clicking, choosing properties, you can type anything in there that you like .. read posts about relevancy in regards to seo for title, keywords and description .. this has nothing to do with the link of your page, as to whether it would work or not, unless you are applying words that are banned by search engines and then your page might or might not show ..

Thanks to your reply, ladyeye. But I`m new to this, and just wish to point out, maybe I did not understand you well, that when I type in the title line in properties, gozo_propertyfinder as the title, when i publish it, the link from other pages won`t work. You know what i mean?

they work only, if in the title i put INDEX.

I saved the voda page as INDEX.BVP it`s the title that i wish to put gozo_propertyfinder so that on search engines it wouldn`t show "index" but "gozo propertfinder".

I asking this, as I have done my website: www.graphicsdimension.com and the same thing happened apart from the fact that I`m annoyed that if I type one of my keywords in the properties nothing comes up, as it seems it is not ranking.

I appreciate your help.

Nice to have a site all in flash, but the SE's have nothing to cross reference your keyword as they cant read the flash pages as text. Just having keywords in the head area is not enough as its good for SE's if the words are within the text of the page to guarantee a relevance to the sites content.
Couple of other things to note is.....................
link back to your home page as http://www.graphicsdimension.com & not http://www.graphicsdimension.com/index.html
The name of your page should be index, but the title should be something more like???? Video graphic design. These are two seperate things.

As I`m using bluevoda, could you clarify more please, as the name of page as far as I know is INDEX and the title I tried to change it (from the page properties panel in bluevoda) but when I change it, it doesn`t work.

"index" is your homepage and
"public_html/" is your Domain

"public_html/index" is http://www.graphicsdimension.com/
