Thread: pages published but not there?

Hello, I have finished my web site and published to the web, but when I type it into the web bar, it brings me to the voda host main page. Is this normal?

Sounds like you haven't pointed your domain at your VH server.
But! wont really know until you post your domain.

my domain is www.powerofyou.ca.

Just noticed on the email it says it can take up to 72 hrs for domain to work. Since my Temp URL pops up, I am assuming that the reason Vodahost pops up when I type in my Web address, is because it is not accesable at this time, due to the fact it was created only 1.5 days ago?

That's likely, especially on the weekend. Check it often 'cause when it's up, it's up!

Using BV FTP, connect to your server and
see if the index.html file you have published so far
is there on the server under public_html.

By the way, when you register your domain,
in the next cycle that the router updates its pages,
it does a broadcast in all directions. Every router
in the world on the Internet does the same. It takes
at least 2 days to propagate your website all over the Internet
especially if it does not hit a bottleneck.

But the thing I don't understand is why does it go to VodaHost.

I checked it via http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ and
it says www.powerofyou.ca is up.

I just checked your website with the index.html file www.powerofyou.ca/index.html and

yes my IP is there 208.43.222.138 If I use my temp URL I get my web page, but when I click on a link I get the VODAHOST down for maintenane? Also if I type in powerofyou.ca, It brings me to the vodahost web site? I have put a trouble ticket in, I am out of answers..
