Ok, !`m ready to publish

So, I buy a VH account
I already have a current website www.tradingfootball.eu
I understand I need to point existing nameservers to VH nameservers

Q: When I point towards VH nameservers does that mean my existing site
is closed down. If so, is there a significant time delay during this changing of hosts?

Q: When I open a VH account what domain name do I enter? The existing one above or do I get a temporary one? This makes sense to me as I would like to check all my links, etc before I put the site on the net "live"

Q1. Yes!
Q2. you will get a temporary ip number that will change when your domain has propagated to the VH servers. This can take up to 72 hours, but quite often is done in just a few.
