...because the web only recognises 'index' as the first page of every site.....however, this is ONLY the FIRST page & some people have just a background for their 'index' page with a big ENTER HERE in the middle. Visitors click on this & go to the site's "Home" page........ :)

You can however place a button in the menu of all your webpages named "Home" and link it to your "index" page.
