Thread: Can't publish index

I can't get my index on my new site to publish. I started my first webpage via BV and VH almost 3 years ago and remember having a similar problem but I can't find the forum conversation that helped me. I am sure it is something I haven't done or am doing wrong. I read some forum post about enom.com and logging in there because VH gets their domains through them? I don't have a log in for the website that I am aware of. Also, I never had to use that site for my first website www.ricklesranch.com What do I need to do? I purchased the domain last week, so it has been 72 hours - heck even 72 business hours! when I publish it says success and when I pull up the website www.difesacanecorso.com it just says "Index of/" I just need some guidance. I am not a computer wiz - which why I am using BV and not writing it with HTML code, so please, be basic with explanations. I already added an add-on domain in my cpanel and I named the index page index (my computer/BV automatically tags on the .bvp) with a lower case "i" What next?

Well, your site www.difescanecorso.com does exist, so it's OK. You do need to publish an index page to it.

If your site is not an add-on, name your page index, then use the Publish icon to publish to public_html/, which is the default folder in the Publish window. Don't add any extension to the name index.

If it is an add-on, then you would publish it to public_html/difescanecorso.com or possibly public_html/www.difescanecorso.com.

Thanks you!! That worked to get my index up!! I kinda had a feeling I was going to have tell VH which website I was trying to publish, and that was it! However, now that I have published it, my favorites Icon is not showing up but it does show up when I do a preview. Any suggestions on that?

Assuming you have an icon named favicon.ico uploaded to your public_html folder, it will show up sometime in the next few minutes, hours or days--it seems to depend on the browser.
