    Default sub webpages not appearing

    RE: www.localpromotions.us

I published a index page and it appears "Live" I created another page called "homepage" and published it (it said successful)

I then went back to "Index" web page in bluevoda and added a "Nav bar" with one link name called Home. I added the published URL "homepage" with title.

I then resave Index webpage and republished it. (successfully). I went to my website and clicked refresh. Then clicked on the Nav bar link Home.

I received a "webpage cannot be found http 404 error.

Am I doing or missing something? please any assistanced could help. Thank you (you can visit my "index page at localpromotion.us " and click top right "Home" tab to see what I mean

Actually, the link in question is configured for http://www.localpromotion.us/featuredbusiness.php ... unless this page has a Form (email Form) on it, there is no reason why it should have been created as a ".php" page rather than the required default of ".html" >> http://www.localpromotion.us/featuredbusiness.html
    * Double-check the page format when cloning from another previously published page to make sure it is the proper type!

There is an underlahying confusion about how to name pages: the first page of your website needs to be named, saved, and published as "index" and as such will always default as your "Home" page no matter what visible label you attach to it by way of a button or Menu tab, and the link back to your "Home" page should always be simply created as the default URL to the website itself: in your case, the hyperlink "back" to your "index" page is simply http://www.localpromotion.us and that is all.
Not only is the proper method, it will surely help to eliminate confusion as you begin to learn the structure of how website are created and additional pages are properly Named and linked.

You must also be careful to not confuse matters more by using Terms improperly, as they often refer to other aspects you may not yet be aware of, and when keeping your progression in the same ordered manner in which it is developed such a discipline that will help you to evolve soundly: there really is no term "sub-pages" when referring to a website, unless you are loosely referring to pages within a sub-directory or "one-of" pages that do not appear on a structured navigational scheme. ALL pages withn a website are simply that -- pages, and the only differentiation between any pages is made between the Index page and all others alone.

Studying the Tutorials precisely is a good thing, even if you pause them to immediately practice a concept to see for yourself how to do what is being illustrated, making the "learning-by-doing" a practical exercise that builds better skills.
