Default Script Install Question

Does anyone know what would cause this error message. I am trying to add the link manager script found at linkmachine.com. I have created a new folder called linkmachine and uploaded the linkmachine install.php but when I type in the url
www.interracial-introductions.com/linkmachine/install.php I get the error message.

Thanks in advance of any help.

Hello Dr. Web,

There is a possible and something you might want to look for.....First go to your control panel and then to file manager or legacy file manager (whichever you use) make sure that your linkmachine folder is in your public_html. Also note that if you created a folder and then used the ftp to upload the linkmachine folder into the folder you created....you might have it listed twice, i.e. linkmachine > linkmachine > install.php

Please click on the folder to make sure you don't have two of the same folder name within the folder before you get to install.php. Sometimes that happens when uploading a folder. You may have transferred a folder into another folder and that may be your initial problem. While you are there...you also may want to chmod your install.php permission to 755 which you will have to do anyway before installation.

Best of luck and hope that helps

Change permissions to the entire linkmachine folder to 755. the file install.php should most probably have permissions set to 644

Are you positive that the folder permissions are set to 755 ?

If yes, you need to see what other files, and from which folders, the install.php tries to include. If it actually tries to include from other folders, set also their permissions to 755
