Question Can't extract script files?

Hi BV Experts,

I am trying to work with my very first script. I have uploaded the zipped files to the cgi directory in my file manager. I changed the permissions on all the files to 755. So far so good??

I have tried to extract the files using the icon at the top ride side of the menu in my file manager but it doesn't seem to work...

Have I totally messed this up or can I be saved?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Well, it should be the second from right, but in any case it should work.

Why don't you simply unzip the files directly on your computer, and then upload them ?

Smile Re: Can't extract script files?

Hi Naval,

Thanks for helping me. The reason I loaded them first is because I read a thread on this forum to try that. I am totally in the dark about proceeding with this. I wasn't able to find much in the BV tutorials. I did get a readme file with the script but I am having trouble understanding...such a newbie here.

I almost contacted you thru your website yesterday to see if you were taking any new clients. Then I decided to keep trying or I would never learn to do this myself.

Question Re: Can't extract script files?

PS: Forgot to mention the icon in my file manager used for extracting the file is dead and not working. Is there a way to change that?

Thanks again...H

Go the way i suggested. Unzip the files on your computer, then upload everything in a dedicated folder on your site, paying attention to respect the folder structure.

I have extracted and (I think) configured the files with my URL, etc., changed the perm to 755 and put them all in one file in my file manager...several times.

I'm ready to delete all these files and hire this job out :(
