Hi all, I need help and can't find an answer to my problem on previous posts. I installed oscommerce through my cpanel and downloaded a free oscommerce template from vodahost. I printed off the readme file. Step 1 to install oscommerce is obvioulsy done. step 2 which says copy/replace files from os010 folder (except psd and fonts directory) to their respective directories is where I'm stuck. Firstly there is no folder called os010. There is fonts, images, includes and psd folders. I've checked within those folders and the only os010 I came accross was a psd file not a folder. Also I have no idea how to copy/replace the whole contents of afolder using the file manager. If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it |

Again, you will find all the detailed instructions in the Knowledgebase or Tips & Tricks sections (either view online, or download). Also, review this thread in the osCommerce Support Forum (particularly post #11 and later). And, repeating, the "1.x" version of osCommerce available for auto-load in Fantastico! is not the most current version available, and may be the root cause of the differences in the files that is frustrating your precise administration according to the instructions included with your template. > You would be better off doing a manual download+installation directly of version 2.2 from the osC site, "Google" for a 'free 2.2 oscommerce template' (and download it), and following the procedures throughout the Forums and offered in documentation at the site, install the correct version template accordingly. Professional osCommerce Services and a wider collection of alternative osCommerce Freelancers File Manager allows you to create a new folder, and then you need to upload all folder contents (files, images, etc.) one at a time to re-populate in exact same fashion as on your Hard Drive. |

Vasili, Re post 11. I eventually did exactly that. I downloaded a template and followed the read me install instructions. Although they were far from detailed. After my last post I discovered the wonders of ftp for the first time. I eventually managed to follow all the instructions in the read me file but the osc layout didn't change to the template. I had thought maybe because the osc download from the control panel was version 2.2RC2 (not 1.x version) and in the step 1 of the template install instructions it says to download a clean version of osc 2.2MS2 that that might be the cause of my template not loading so I sent a support ticket to vodahost customer service. They didn't say in their email what was causing my problem just that they will load the template for me, which I am very grateful for. Next step - viewing more tutorials! :) |

| Wonders never cease! (Thank Goodness - LOL) I am very glad you had an "Edison Moment" and that you found a solution acceptable enough......Lord knows, you had me thinking I was losing my touch! I need to remember to keep suggesting the affordability of VodaHost Script Installation Services (only $30) to keep everything under one roof. .... and on we go! |

After you upload the template, you have to go into your admin and change the styles.. then your new template will appear. Karen
