Merchant payments procedures?

Hi:

I am creating an Advertiser Page. This is a 3 part Advertising page.

Part 1

Merchants that are looking for advertisement space to place their Business / Affiliate Programs

Part 2

Affiliate Program where those who wish to take part in affiliate programs from those Merchants that are listed on our site.

Part 3

Where people who are browsing our site may find items to purchase based on the Merchants available.

My question is:

I would like to know, what do others use as a payment thresh-hold for Merchants to make payments for ad space? I understand that PayPal can be one such method. What do others use? How do they create such a notice for Merchants willing to send payments.

I understand that there are alot of Link Exchange programs out there that merchants can use, but if I have space available, why not make it so that it can generate a cash-flow as well.... Yes several times a year I may offer free space to merchants, but they will be given limitations.

I believe that a paying merchant should receive more for what they pay in advertising dollars then someone who gets free space.

If you don't have a merchant account, you'll be limited to paypal, having them send checks, possibly Google Checkout if they offer that type of service.
