Thread: Using soholaunch and bluevoda at the same time

this is the case. I have been working on my site with bluvoda for the past month. I am about to sign up and publish it. what i need to know is since i can have multiple websites on one account. can i have one website that is built with bluevoda and another one built with soholaunch?

Yes, you can use both BV and Soho on a single account.

Hi, Ok, I'm totally new.
I love the blue Voda, and want to use it to build my website. Now, Can I build my website in blue voda and link it to the shopping cart feature in Soho? I see it as two websites, just linked. If so how do I do that? I really don't understand all of the tech aspects of php and html.(that's why I like blue voda...I told you I was new.) but in my head it seems easy, but again I don't know.

First install Soho. Then go on and build pages in Soho and in BV. You can link them with hyperlinks. The only problem that i can think of is that whilste Soho allows for internal pages links, you will have to link the BV pages giving the full URLs, because Soho can't see them as pages of the same site.

I already have a Blue Voda Site published, Would it be better,at this Point(... to go with a NEW account and get a Free Domain Name, take advntage with the new Secure Software, and get the free Install?
I want to build a e-commerce site, to resell software. Obviously, things will change, but All Links will direct traffic to the Seller's site, where they are set up for Secure Connectionfor the customer to pay.

If you want to set up an E-commerce site, i would highly reccomend a totaly new account and a SSL cert

Hello all, I am in the same case as nitehawk58, I already have a web site (www.dgwaves.com) and now I just want to sell some services like online curses. My question is, could I use Soho to create my shopping cart under the same URL I have my Bluevoda site, I mean linked at www.dgwaves.com/shoppingcart.html/ , please help me. Thanks.

Yes you can. First create a subdomain in your site, called "shoppingcart". Then install Soho in this subdomain. Use Soho to create your cart. Create a link from your BV site to the soho cart. Make sure to have also some kind of link from the cart back to your BV site.

I just got bv today. I haven't even really started working with it yet. What I really need is a site to sell my jewelry on. Should I start with the voda and then add the soho???? or just get the soho? We don't have our small business liscence yet so it will be awhile before I can sell anything anyways but I wanted to get working...

Please read above and you will see that you can do anything you want: have a site in Soho, OR have a site in BV and use Soho only for the cart.

If you are satisfied with Soho's layouts and templates, you can build all of your pages with it, otherwise use BV and use Soho for the shopping cart part.

Hi I am new and confused.

I have started to use front page 2000, 2003 and Soholaunch. I run short after the basics in both.
Here is the scope of the project.
I need to create a form for 2 or 3 users to fill in regularly and be sent to me.
This information once is email to me I will incorporate it into my computer.
The incorporation part is easy for me.
The form requires about 150 fields, which 4 of them are (Table related or dropdown combo); The others are like name, address, and 4 or 5 fields to be dollar amounts (I do not need to store the result, but I have to show the user the total amount of all the dollar amount)
A second part to the scope is for the user to print the form in a formatted way, like a contract or a fancy invoice. So the data in the form will have more text around.
I would like to use fp2003 because is more visual and uses access. But which one, in your opinion should I continue using Soholaunch or FP2003?
Or should I ask whay is Vodahost? can it help me?

I'm not sure that FP or Soholauch can allow you to correctly process such a form. Surely they cannot take care of the printing part. You need to create a printer version of the form, so using some script for form printing you will be able to print it. Also, the calculator properties required, are a bit difficult to acheive. VH's Form Maker Pro has some calculation features built in. However, i beleive you are goind to need some customized script to process your form.

Which one will be easier or more economic. Fp2003 or Soholaunch?
What do you think the cost could be. I could direct you to sites and show my work so far.

They are different products, with different features. Soho is web based, FP desktop. Soho has it's own (or any other you may wish to purchase) templates, FP will create practically anything. Soho has Autorised Users, DB, shopping cart, and many other features that FP doesn't have. FP has absolute freedom of layout that Soho doesn't have. And, at the end, each user has his own requirements and his own likes/dislikes. I can't tell what is best for you. However, a combination is also possible (FP, or Blueoda) for the main site, Soho for the eventual shop or members are.

Lat: Soho is free with your VH account, FP is a paid for product.
