some advice from the pro's please, major problem..!

hey fellow Vodies,

I have just hit a major problem and really hope someone can help.

I have two domains on my account one of which is running nicely this being the second domain registered, my main domain on my account is sitting dormant, I wanted to run Soholaunch on the main domain. I have been told that I have to initiate a full account reset, which will lose me all my data from the server. The problem I have is that the second site is running a php auction script and the site is live and I don't want to lose my data for this site, as It is a major operation re-installing the script and templates.

If I was to do a full back up of my site that runs the php script, would it re install everything the way it was before the account reset. including SQL databases? and my SSL Certificate

I hope someone can help me decide the best way to proceed
and any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

If you know which files to delete you wouldnt have to do a reset. Basically everything you know that you personally put there thru bv would go. If youve never put anything in the main domain.. just install soho. Soho needs a CLEAN directory to install to.

Thank you Karen for the quick reply, I have had a look at the root directory and unfortunately my website that I don't want anything to happen to is situated there. It would be so much easier if you could have separate directories for each domain/sites instead of having them all in one directory.
I'm stuck...!

what we did was buy a new service for the soho website and kept the old website running with Blue Voda. The total cost for this was 95.40 and this was the advise we got when we asked through a support ticket. if the site is working under Blue Voda and you want to have a soho site, I don't think you can do that, but I would contact help support and they will help you as well.

Every domain has it's own directory ... public_html is the directory for your main domain and if you have an addon domain, this should appear as a folder inside of the public_html folder .. .. every add on domain goes inside of this public_html directory and it has it's own directory inside - a directory is nothing more really than a folder ..

You can have a soho site in an add on domain .. you just cannot have a bluevoda site and a soho site in the same directory ..

OKies.. it worked out either way. Sorry you misunderstood, but hey.. you got another account and lots more room to grow! You cant beat that.

Thanks to all for your support and helping me through this
so if I delete all the files from my bluevoda site, then I can install sohohlaunch? without my addon domain being affected?

Basically.. yes.. just dont delete the cgi bin or htacess if there is one.
