Default How do I fix permissions?

In trying to figure out what is wrong with my webpage, I went to Help and Diagnostics. When I click Permissions, the top line says:

Root Directory (public_html
755XXXXnobodyyesFailed

(I changed the username to XXXX for security reasons.)

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Thanks!

Did you run the FIX permissions file? It tells you what you have to do to fix it, and then run the tool again.

Karen,
I did run the Fix Permissions, several times, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I am being told by SOHO that I have a PHP problem. I don't seem to be able to fix that either. Suggestions?

I REALLY appreciate the help! :)

Jeanne

Jeanne..

Im really not sure WHAT PHP problem it is.. if you mean phpsuexe..sic spelling.. that should have been fixed a long time ago. I cant begin to guess without further information here.

Did you put in your ftp info in the webmaster to allow it to fix permissions? Id have to look at your site...login.. I believe I have before.. and I dont remember what the issue was exactly.. Did you report this supposed problem to voda host? I can log in again.. but I really dont get paid to trouble shoot soho. If you send me the info I will look real quick.. but you will have to get support in the picture if I cant fix or find the issue.

I got your email.. is this what you meant about verification? That php_suexec should no longer be an issue. Thats why they made the FIX PERMISSIONS thing in conjunction with soho to remedy this issue. There is something else lingering around screwing things up.. not sure what but again.. until you send me logins I cant be sure. There seems to be.. from the other Blogs.. some bug in the templates that run the blogs or an uncompatible issue from the latest update. I would be willing to bet that when they update again it goes away... not sure.. but im almost betting there is some scripting in the way.. either way .. send me the logins and I will see what i can do.. cpanel logins will be necessary as well so I can get into the raw log and error logs to see whats really going on.

I updated your template to a sort of newer version of what you had. See if the newer template resolves some of your issues. Some of those OLD templates have not been updated in more than 2 years, so some features will have issues. I do think this is a SOHO error with the latest updates. Ive been in the backend of several stores lately .. including ones ive built for clients.. and all of them are having some sort of issue.. seems like the last month or so. Please be patient.. as I said in the email and I will see what ears I can twist with upper management at SOHO as well.
