    Default SSL Certificate question

This may be the wrong place to ask this, but since I am using Soholaunch, I thought I would start here.

I have an ssl certificate installed through vodahost and when people go to my checkout pages the certificate is active.

I would like to install one of those graphic links which show that the site is secure rather than just relying upon people to know that https:// means it is a secure site.

How do I go about doing that?

    Thanks

Who issued the certificate? They most likely emailed you the graphics etc... to use for this.

It was issued through and installed through vodahost using Rapidssl. I didn't get an email with any instructions on putting graphics on my site.

If you look at rapid ssl site or look on the knowledge list of support under ssl, i think you will find seals there that you can download

You have to order those thru vodahost.. at least the dedicated ip part. But their SSL is comparable to anyone elses and its easier to just do it all in one place.. just from experience.

I am getting ready to purchase an ssl from vodahost with dedicated ip, but I am not sure if it is going to work ok. I have several subdomains on my site and I want to use ssl on one of them, and maybe two. It that possible? Can I use ssl for more that one subdomain? And can I use ssl for a subdomain at all - or does it have to be the main site?

You can only use the ssl for more than one domain if you purchase whats called a WILD CARD ssl. Its pretty expensive to do this also.

You can however, put all your products on soho, and have them CHECKOUT on soho.. but just make sure they know how your checkout works.

So am I to understand correctly, Karen, I can use the ssl for any domain or subdomain I have, but only one. Is that correct? And how do I tell them which one I use it on, or is that up to the install on my end, telling my osc store about the ssl.

No.. you have to decide WHERE you want it. When you purchase it.. it will be domain specific. When you put in the support ticket to have it installed it will be DOMAIN specific. In your OSC.. you have to set the path to your ssl in your checkout.. usually just a matter of typing it in.. https://whateversiteitisdotcom
