I built one site using storesonline and very disappointed with their service. I would like to keep their builder but hosted by vodahost. I heard that if I do that, I will loose my cart. Is this possible and if it is please advice how I can do this. I have one site with vodahost using soho.

Theres supposedly a version you can download thats java scripted...but youd have to install it yourself and PURCHASE updates. Ive never seen anyone successfully install it on another server, and get it to run right. You have to remember you are coming off an oracle base platform. Oracle is a very cumbersome program and full of glitches if they dont have good programmers...which they dont...99% of the time..so.. do you really think a downloaded version of ISSUES is going to be a happy trip?

So if I have to transfer my site from sol to vodahost, I have to built it all over again.Please let me know if there is a simple way

no there is not a simple way to do that, but think of all the money you will save by going to voda instead of sol and that should help you out.

Well theres no just transfer across.. no.. but you can download your product file and then say use soho and upload that product file to soho, add your images.. and then youd just have to rebuild your outer pages. A few additions in the setup to process payments in the shopping cart with your information..and youd be good to go.

Thats the absolute FASTEST way...but it all takes some work.

How do I unstall soho? Do i go to cpanel, click fantastico and remove? Do I have to re-install fanastico again?
What I am trying to do is keep my www.newmemoryfoammattress.com going and in the mean time build my mattress site on www.sareesunlimited.com and later transfer www.newmemoryfoammattress.com site on to sareesunlimited.com. I will use vodahost to build my sareesunlimited.com site.

Yes Bob... thats how you uninstall it. If you want to install it elsewhere then you go back and install it to the new directory.

My main domain is www.sareesunlimited.com built by fantastico. Instead of un-stalling fantastico, can I just erase all the pages and build my mattress site on www.sareesunlimited.com and later have vodahost change my main domain.

No.. You will lose EVERYTHING if they reset and change the domain name.

I have un-installed and installed soho on www.sareesunlimited.com. I have also started building my mattress site on www.sareesunlimited.com.
Please check if I am doing it right. Once I am ready, do I inform vodahost to change my main domain to www.newmemoryfoammattress.com. or do I inform them right now?

If you want the site to be newmemoryfoammattress.com thats what you need to build it as. As you are doing it.. you will need to get control of the domain name, and then park and Point it to this site.. or create it as an addon and redirect it via your cpanel.

Otherwise you will need to backup what you are building now. unistall soho from that domain, reinstall soho, then restore the back up you made...or use the move tool which im not sure can be used on the same server.

As far as the new store it looks like you are doing it right

Eventually yes. If you want the site to show up as the mattress.com. The Domain name server is OWNED by SOL, but you need to get the domain under your control, either at northwest solutions or transferred to vodahost or g o d a d d y or whatever you are going to do with it.

I know the site is hosted there and that you want it active until you move it, however, you are going to have to deal with the issues pertaining to the domain transfer either way.

Hi Karen,
Well I transfered my www.newmemoryfoammattress.com to vodahost and made them change it to my main domain name from www.sareesunlimited.com. I also installed fantastico and started building my newmemoryfoammatttress.com . When ever I login, a window opens reminding I have 14 days and counting left to use free features. After 14 days it says I will loose blog manager, enewletter, shooping cart, member login, event calender, database table, backup/restore. Can you explan why?

Did you install a second copy of soho? or did you move it? its not showing the license numbers correctly. Run a backup of soho. Save it on your computer via the download.

Uninstall soho via fantastico... reinstall it then run the back up.. see if that fixes it

If not.. put in a support ticket because its not reading the server license.. we will have to get into the config file and run it with the server numbers. I could do it.. but i dont have their license number.

I could not do any of the things you told me because I went on holidays. Now all those features are lost and I put in a ticket asking themto fix it but they are telling me it can not be enabled. I really can not do much without those features. Can I unstall and reinstall fantastico to get those features back?

yeah.. you should be able to.. and make sure that this copy is licensed.

The copy in fantastico should be server licensed. Vodahost PAYS for this license. I think Brad is misunderstanding what you are doing.

Please dont ever post your passwords in a forum. Email me if you want me to look and reinstall it for you
