Thread: New to Soholaunch

I have been a user of BV for sometime now and have had two sites running.
However, now I wish to begin using SohoLaunch. I am building a commercial site for a friend who has zero knowledge of all things computer and does not wish to know. Her site is called www.coachingwithangels.com and is with *******. I have changed the DNS form *******'s to the Voda ones. So far so good.

After I installed SohoLaunch, I attempted to get to the SohoLaunch login, but all I get is the ******* home page.

Also, I have not yet published anything yet. When I do actually try to publish the site in BV the list of IP addresses only mine are shown and does not include the IP's for my friend. Can I assume that I will have to publish the site on my friend's PC. If there is a way round this, I would love to hear it.

You have to login to publish soho LIVE on the web.. it contains its own builder. Please see the tutorials

then u login with the information you set up during the install

Sorry to jump onto this post, but I also want to use Soholaunch for the first time, my url is hoildaychains.com and I have tried adding sohoadmin on the end but I just get a page error.

Do I need to set something up before trying to log into the url?

Well besides a typo in your url, i dont even find that site .. have you pointed the domain to voda? Have you created the addon in cpanel?...

Create the addon, point the domain to vodahost, install soholaunch thru fantastico.

I am totally new to all these website builder. I just started a new website cal kellygiftstore, I went thro the tutorial but not seen any that is showing me how to publish my website live? Can you please assist me on this.

Beside that, i have more than 200 products to be place on the website but i only can place 32 items per page. What I means is I have many sub category for my products, for eg for product A I have 50 items but I only can add 32 items in this product A page. Why is it so? How can I put all the items in?

I am totally lost now.. and frustrated as I try to build this website for a month already. It is drag for too long... please help me...

You can add two products into each of those boxes.. and those are only outer pages that you dont have to use at all if you dont choose to.. you can link them straight into the cart.

The cart will list 25 per page with next and previous buttons for that category.

When ever you hit SAVE you publish.. you are LIVE.. soho is an ONLINE BUILDER.

But I can know more on how to add 2 pic in one box?? Not sure on how to do it.. Beside that I have change my display setting for the button "buy now" to "add to cart" why is it at the website is still buy now?

And how can I can take away the template photo?

you just drag and drop two shopping icons into the box.. not pictures.. you can open a text box and make all the pics you want there.

i dont know about the buy now.. show me where you mean? is this the cart itself? did you click to save the display?

Template fotos have to edited from the template itself.

Did you add those before or after you changed the display? Try deleting one and readding it.

I was change the icon after I add the picture. You mean I need to change the setting before I add the picture?

Sorry, one more question, may I know how can I change the size of my picture after upload it?

Add the shopping cart icons again since youve changed it.. i think you said? If so .. then.. i dont know.. cant tell you without logging in to say whats going on... but i suspect it was done BEFORE.

You really cant change the size AFTER the fact.. and depending HOW you add them to the page.. for instance.. the shopping cart makes its own sizes.. you really cant do much with that... you can do some changes in display options but not much.. if you are putting them on the outer pages. you can click on the image and drag the handles or right click image properties and type in a size there under appearance.

I try to open my website at IE but there is an error occur...the message saying

Yesterday i try to open at IE, it work but today cant... may i know what is the problem? Firefox I manage to open it.

Its because you are LINKING to pics on your computer.. and not on the internet. Thats why you cant OPEN it.

You have linked whatever this is to your computer. The image link shoud be

kellygiftstore.com/images/whatever.jpg

your site opens just fine

Never mind.. just your site is working fine.

Whatever IMAGE you were linking to was on your computer. When ever you disconnect from the internet its no longer viewable as it pulls the file from your computer and not the net... or until you clear the cache. Thats why you got a page not found..

I can see your basket page just fine. So.. site is working just fine.

To whatever email address you have set up in your shopping cart business info and webmaster icon i think its global.

I dont know WHY you cant view the webpage.. add it to your secure pages in your browser. Look in tools, internet options, security.. on your browser tool bar.

I have a problem of backup-ing my file... I click backup.. key in file name.. save.. then when i want to download the file to my c drive.. seems like it is not working.. cos after i click download.. is just a blank page appear.. no msg asking me to save or what... how should i go about it??

Its your computer. You need to allow this site in your firewalls and browser settings.

Well whether or not you need a NEW domain name depends on what you are doing.. but yes you NEED a domain.

Soho is an ONLINE builder meaning you need hosting, a domain, and have installed it on the server.. then you can begin to work with it.. please see the tutorials at the beginning of this section of the forum.. they will answer your questions on HOW TO BUILD A PAGE
