Also when I look at the site in IE it doesnt look the same as google chrome or mozilla forefox????

You have to edit the template css file.. not an easy task if you dont know how or know html. Different browsers are always going to render things differently..

You might try a more modern template.. several are available thru the template manager to import automatically.
