Need a little help with some forum code

I'm trying to help a friend of mine set up his phpBB forum with a Home Page link in his overall header. The only problem is when I write the way I know how it wants to attach a /forums to the end of his domain name which just links us back to the forums and not the home page. Does anyone know what it is in the code that makes it attach that /forums? Here is copy of the code and what I have tried.

No I have also tried it like this <a herf="nitrousstangs.com'>Home Page</a> and all that does is make the link look like this http://nitrousstangs.com/forum/nitrousstangs.com

Instead of
<a herf="nitrousstangs.com'>
You need to make it
<a herf="http://nitrousstangs.com">

If you don't have the http:// it assumes that it is a relative link and that the file is in the same directory you are already in, which in this case would be "forum". So it tries to open nitrousstangs.com as a file in the forum directory. Once you add in http:// it knows its a absolute link and will actually link to where you want.
