Potential here for forums to be hacked ?

I moderate a forum which got hacked after I left last night, and since I'm planning my own, I was wondering what Vodahost has in place to prevent hacking, or limit it, or repair the damage after ?

Also, what people recommend you do at the site level to make hacking harder and if Vodahost have any tools to help with protecting your site.

Any info will help. I'd like to put everything I need in place as soon as I get the site.

The potential exists for anything to get hacked. VodaHost has strong security, but your best safeguards are keeping your forum scripts up to date and never sharing your account info with anyone unless you know you can trust them.

But if someone is sloppy with there passwords or using outdated scripts.
there is nothing we can do to prevent your site being comprimised. We
have 10,000's of sites on our servers. We can only make sure the servers
are not comprimised,not individual sites. This is purely the site owners
responsibility.
