Two reasons for this error.
1/ the config file has been changed ( ether by updating the forum or overrighting with a blank config file )
2/ the database has been deleted

If you have checked both these and there both ok then there is a third MySql is having a issue, if so this usually sorts it's self out in a couple of hours.

if answer to 1 is yes then rewrite the config file with the right info.

if answer is 2 then put a support ticket in for a reset back to the last save point.
