HELP! Alien about?

I thought everything had transferred okay from my old forum, but something is wrong with some of my users! They can't post, and when I try and look them up I get the following message:

I have deleted my old forum, as it looked like everything was okay! Anything I can do?

No - some users can't log in and use the board. If I try to look at the user i get the message below.

As long as it is only a few I'll have to get them to register again - I presume I can manually add back the number of posts they had? Unfortunately these are some of the oldest members!

Unless you can suggest something else?

I've also lost all the rank images - is there a special place I should be loading them?

Firstly if they can't log in send a mass email to all users telling them if they can't log in. use the I forgot my password link just under the login boxs on the login page. . sometimes the conversion looses the password. then they can change it once they get on in there user cpanel.

Second upload the rank images. into images/ranks from the forum route.

Think I might have found the problem - the two users who absolutely can't get in have both got apostrophies in their log in name. When one tried to log in with a different name, but still with an apostrophe, she wasn't allowed to.

Looks like phpbb2 allowed them, but phpbb3 doesn't.

if this is the case then go into admin panel under general select the Board features on the page look for Allow username change check this to yes then click submit, then in their ucpanel change there name and submit, send them the new name. change the admin back to no for username change once done.

PS - for anyone else about to upgrade from phpbb2 to phpbb3, login names on the 3 can only be alpha numerical, as opposed to 2 which allowed additional characters. If you have any users with ** or any other characters you will need them to change their username before they can use the board.
