Default AVG Antivirus Users

AVG Antivirus is Giving a False Positive

We have been receiving reports from users of the AVG Antivirus that AVG has been giving false positive reports flagging a registry key in BlueVoda as a possible worm or a Trojan…

I would like to personally guarantee everyone that BlueVoda is 100% Clean…BlueVoda has been on the market for close to three years and has been downloaded and installed on over 2,000,000 computers without a single issue.

We have been in contact with the Developers of AVG and we are awaiting their response.

Please Note: AVG Antivirus is the only antivirus giving this false positive reading…All the Major players like Norton, MacAfee, Microsoft, etc… Have given BlueVoda a complete clean bill of health.

If you have any questions or require any more clarifications on this topic. Please feel free to ask them on this thread.

Always at your service...

Just in from AVG

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately, the previous virus database might have detected the mentioned virus on some legitimate applications. We can confirm that it was a false alarm. We have immediately released a new virus update that removes the false positive detection on this file. Please update your AVG and check your files again.

If you need to restore deleted files from AVG Virus Vault you can do it this way:
- Open AVG Virus Vault (Start -> Programs -> AVG 7.5 -> AVG Virus Vault).
- Locate the file that was incorrectly removed.
- Right click on it and choose the "Restore File(s)" option.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Answers to the most common questions can be found here as well:

Best regards,

Pavel Durdak

What Should You Do?

1) Uninstall AVG (Do not just disable, you must completely uninstall)
2) Uninstall BlueVoda
3) Reboot
4) Re-install BlueVoda (installation instructions)
5) Re-install AVG with all the latest updates.

The latest version of AVG has BlueVoda white listed.
